More Easter!

It was nice this Easter to be home since it was General Conference. We had a lesson about the Savior and the kids acted out the parts of the story. The kids thought it was fun.
Then here at home we had a small egg hunt and small bag filled with candy. They also got a book and a small wooden top.

The egg hunt was a bit different. I had them find eggs of a certain color so I could hid the some of them in hard to find places.
Jac my niece is here visiting and it was fun to have her join the gang.

Missionary Primary Activity

The Primary children had a fun activity. They "boarded a plane" and visited Hawaii, Peru, Russia, and Brazil in just two hours!

We set up the Hawaii room...I am glad we had all of our luau stuff.

Spencer shared stories and pictures of when he served his mission in Hawaii. The children loved it! He even had pineapple, a shell and a lei for each of them.

This is some of the children in Russia. Each room had fun things to look at. It was a fun activity and we all hope they have a desire to serve a mission.

Our first Pinewood Derby!

Spencer was so excited to build a car and race it in the Pinewood Derby! He designed it on paper and then Dad helped him do all the work.
It was fun to see all the cars and the fun designs they came up with. The antispation of each race was fun and kept us excited.
The boys cheers each other on. Dad Spencer was glad that Spencers car did pretty good and crossed the finish line everytime.

The Pinewood Derby was really fun and we are happy that many more are to come. :)

Swirling Colors

Spencer and Zachary participated in their schools Science Fair. They worked together as partners and did a great job. Their project was Swirling Colors. You take whole milk at room temperature and put it in a shallow dish. Put in 3-4 drops of different food coloring. Then add a 2 drops of liquid dish soap and watch the colors swirl!

This was a fun and easy project. I was really happy that they took charge and found their own project. Try it at home...it is pretty neat!

Happy Birthday Zachary!

We ate lunch with Zachary at school on his birthday! Here his is with his friend Hunter.

Zachary's wishes were a superman cake!

Zachary had a few friends over after school to celebrate his birthday.

Here is Zachary making his birthday wishes. Happy Birthday Zachary!

Happy Birthday Rex!

Rex has turned 4!

Spencer made him this great T-Rex birthday cake!

Rex enjoyed playing with Micheal Vail and Jakob Lord and his brothers on his birthday.

SpenceD came up with the idea of lifting Rex up on a chair when we sang Happy Birthday to him. Rex thought it was great!

Here is Rex blowing out the candles on his cake. Happy Birthday Rex!

Basketball Winter 2010

Another basketball season has come and gone.
Spencer coached Zachary's and Rex's team. They had a good time running around and developing their skills. I had a hard time keeping Brandt off the court. He loves to do whatever his brothers are doing.

10K

On Saturday they cancelled the 10K race on base. I was disappointed but glad that I didn't have to run it outside in the freezing cold weather. On New Year Eve I decided to go out and run on the farm trails since I love it out there. About two miles out I slipped and fell and hurt my knee pretty bad. I fell on loose gravel that had black ice and the gravel dug in pretty good. I am glad it was cold out so my legs could freeze so I could run the rest of the way home. So....that is why I really didn't want to run outside.

So Saturday morning I ran the 10K on my treadmill! I am so glad that I did it...but really glad it is over. I hit a wall about four miles but persisted. I usually stop and stretch but I ran the whole time and did it in 62.5 minutes. Big thanks to my husband for coming up three or four times to cheer me on. It was funny, he came up just as I was finishing and cheered me on to the finish line! I really needed it because I was not feeling real well. Friday night I stared to get a sore throat but felt fine Saturday morning. Then it really hit about noon. I am so glad I didn't get too sick before so I could run.

Another Great Conversation with Zachary!

At breakfast on Friday morning we asked the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up. Zachary said he wanted to sell lemonade outside on our front porch. It was really cute! I asked him how much he would charge per glass and if he could make enough money to support a family. First he said five dollars, not really knowing how much that really is for a glass of lemonade. SpenceD then told him he wouldn't get a lot of customers for that much. Then he went down to a dollar and we still told him that is too much unless it is some super lemonade. Finally it was down to 25 cents and for that he could get a lot of customers. But by this point I think his dreams of selling lemonade for a career were crushed. Poor guy. Maybe I will have to tell him that could be his career until he learns to mow lawns or deliver newspapers. :)

Chicken and Rooster for Auction!

Here they are! My chicken and rooster! I made some of these for my kids and my kids love them! They are bean bags and most of the time they land right side up when thrown. After making a few of them I decided to make a few for the Relief Society Serivce Auction. It is coming up at the end of the month. I thought I would give all the ladies of the Wiesbaden Military Ward a sneak preview because I know all of them will be fighting over them. :) lol!
