I have a great helper who loves to garden. :) Brandt is planting more yellow onions for me. I planted some a few weeks ago and they were growing great. Today I took them outside to start to harden them off. I went to bring them back in and tripped and they landed upside down. :( I had to transplant them into pony packs. You can see them behind Brandt. I hope they make it even though they are all broken off and their roots took a beating.
This year I planted a variety of seeds. The ones that did the best are the red leaf lettuce, butter crunch lettuce, red cabbage, sweet basil, and purple basil. I am going to plant an herb garden on the side of my house so I can use them throughout the summer. My romanie lettuce, oak leaf lettuce, spinach, and many others seeds did not come up. I have planted them again so we will see if they decide to make it. It might be because the seeds are a few years old. I think I learning to buy new seed.
Here are some more herbs that are taking more time to grow. I have chives, garlic chives and lemon basil.
I planted some flowers since buying them last year almost broke the bank! The only flower seeds that came up are the snap dragons from Grandpa Shumways from over six years ago! I planted 36 plugs and 32 came up! That is pretty good for old seeds! Also in the flat I have italian parsley, dill, green cabbage, thyme, and more sweet basil.
