Luke's Luau!

We celebrated Luke's 1st birthday with a luau!  Well, it was six months late but that is only because who wants to attend a luau in December.  :)  Spencer served his mission in Hawaii so we have followed the Hawaiian tradition.  We had a great time and enjoyed the people who came.  The food was great and we had a ton of it!

The joys of Gardening!

This is the reason we plant a garden!  We love fresh peas!  I think they ate them all before we could freeze any.

Luke fractured his big toe! :(

Luke pulled a piece of concrete over and it landed on his big toe.  We took him into get it x-rayed and sure enough it was fractured.

Luke had to wear this boot for about a week and a half.  He was not very happy with it on.  Sure glad babies heal fast!

Our Spring Garden

Zachary got this green cabbage plant from school.  We were surprised it lived!  The day after we planted it we took off the tents a little late in the morning and it looked dead.  Then it came back and Luke sat on it.  It did pretty good for the trama it had been through.

Yellow onions and butter crunch lettuce.

Red leaf lettuce

Red cabbage.  I canned a lot of Danish cabbage this year.  Spencer really loves it!

Tomatoes

Crookneck squash

and peas!
